Sense of taste

Taste not only is from your taste buds which are the bumps on you tounge but taste also comes from your nose. I never really noticed this until our jelly bean lab. Our throats also have taste recptors but the tounge has more. The nose just increases the taste of the food or drink or undesirable flavor with a scent of the item being tasted. That is why when you are sick you tend not to taste your food as well because you r nose is stuffed with boogers. For example when you are eating pizza i notice when i am sick i don;t taste the spices as much but when m nose is fine i taste almost every ingredient in the pizza. And this is all due to flavor being sensed by smell. On the tounge you have 4 most common taste which are salt, sweet, bitter and sour.
